The message is titled, I See Skies of Blue. As we enter the season of Thanksgiving our thoughts turn to those things that fill our hearts with gratitude. The Bible tells us to live our lives thankful, but for what reason?
Does God need to receive thanks or is there a deeper reason God says to, “enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise”? There is a dynamic reason God commands us to be thankful - it changes us from the inside out.
The message was titled, Old Man Take a Look at My Life. John the Baptist preached a message calling the children back to the fathers, and the fathers back to the children. There was a gap or division in the first century, much as there is today. A gap between young and old – rich and poor – Gentile and Jew – men and women. John preached Jesus as the gap closer, and He still is.
Today we are as divided as ever, conflicts and divisions abound. When John preached in the 1st century, his mission was to prepare the way for Christ. So, we see that part of getting ready for the return of Christ is to not only have a right heart with God but also be in right relationship with people.
There is a little secret tucked away in an old Neil Young song called Old Man - I can't wait to share it with you. This message will be an insightful look into our interpersonal relationships giving us one simple truth that will help close the gap and heal division and conflict and help us to see people we disagree with in a different light.
