                  Six Celebrate Baptism 4/19/09

This last Sunday not only did we focus on the return of Jesus as we talked about Biblical prophecy, but we also joined together to witness the baptism of 6 of our young men and women.  It was a big step for them to come before the church to follow Christ in baptism.

As I talked with each one of them prior to the event I asked why the wanted to be baptized.  They each unashamedly stated that they wanted to follow and be closer to Jesus.

What I was most pleased with this last Sunday was that after each baptism there was a loud round of cheering and applause.  What a great validation and support each of these kids had to feel.  I was very glad to be a part of a congregation that is excited about serving Jesus and seeing our young people get serious about their faith.

Christ Community Church is unique in many ways, enthusiasm for ministry, love of the truth, a spirit of fellowship, and a strong representation of godly men.  God has brought us all together for a very special purpose, we are going to see amazing things the months to come.

                       Little Preachers 03/23/09

First century followers of Jesus never imagined the technology that would be available to Christians of the future.  Today we often take for granted the ability to preserve a sermon in a digital format that enables us to send it around the world.

God has given man the ability to understand and create amazing tools.  They can be used for evil or good.  A sermon CD can reach many people locally with the gospel, and it can even find itself across country or around the world like a little preacher sharing Jesus wherever he goes.

We have recently committed ourselves to purchasing a CD copier and label printer so that we can provide CDs for the people of CCC to hear the Sunday teaching over again at home and to also pass it on to friends and neighbors.

I'm very happy to let you know that we have raised almost $2,500 and will be purchasing the equipment this week.  A big thanks to everyone who helped us get the tools we needed.  I believe we will hear testimonies in the near future of folks who were encouraged by a CD message and because of it, found their way to church and received Christ as their Savior.

I want to encourage everyone to be prepared to take these CDs to people in your lives who will be blessed and helped by them.  It is a very non-thratening way to make a difference in someone's life.

On Easter morning we will be sending all our visitors home with a welcome packet that will contain a CD message sharing the love of Jesus with them.

This Sunday we start a new sermon series entitled, The Road to Jerusalem.  My prayer is that over the next three weeks we will have a supernatural encounter with Jesus Christ.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Rich
