Things Jenna Taught Us Pastor Rich Laskowski
We said goodbye to little Jenna this week. Remembering those 10 weeks in the hospital is painful. She endured so much as doctors and nurses tried to find the right combination of medicine and surgery. But in the end her little heart was unable to keep up.
She was a fighter. Time after time when folks had all but given up she would bounce back as if saying, " not yet, I still have work to do." Everyday she added to the numbered of people that were being touched by her life. Some had visited her little room on the 2nd floor of the Peyton Manning Children's Hospital, others had just read about her story on Caring Bridge. She wasn't old enough to talk, but her life and struggle spoke volumes.
At the visitation people poured in to hug and love Kenny and Jennifer. I watched them stand and receive a steady line of friends and family for four and a half hours. The line only grew short after 8 pm. Family and friends cried together, brothers and sisters from church hugged and shared words of love and encouragement. There was no way that Kenny and Jennifer could not know how much they are loved and how profoundly Jenna has touched lives.
