There is a diabolical reason behind these events. This is a message calling all those who follow Christ to wake up and recognize the hour that we live in and to pray for personal and national repentance. I. The Most hated people in all human history has been the Jews. WHY?
Ps 69:3 I am worn out calling for help; my throat is parched. My eyes fail, looking for my God. 4 Those who hate me without reason outnumber the hairs of my head; many are my enemies without cause, those who seek to destroy me. I am forced to restore what I did not steal.
A. The world has a history of hating the Jews
1. The Story of Esther, Haman, and Mordecai
- Ester drafted to be a Queen to King of Persia
- Her uncle Mordecai stayed close to watch over her
- One day, Haman the King's 2nd in command walked by
- Everybody bowed but Mordecai.
- He was furious and built a gallows to hang Mordecai
- But also tricked the king into this decree
Es 3:5 When Haman saw that Mordecai would not kneel down or pay him honor, he was enraged 6 Yet having learned who Mordecai's people were, he scorned the idea of killing only Mordecai. Instead Haman looked for a way to destroy all Mordecai's people, the Jews, throughout the whole kingdom of Xerxes.
The Jews were in Jerusalem rebuilding the walls and temple
Satan couldn't let that stand!
2. Romans in 70 AD destroyed the temple and walls and banished the Jews from the land
Satan was behind the politics of the day
3. In 1492 the Jews had settled in Spain
King Ferdinand and Isabella embraced Catholicism - Passed a law to band all Jews from Spain
4. 1917 British had control of the Promised Land
- They were allowing the Jews to come back into the land
- Satan couldn't let that stand
- 1917 was the year Hitler begins to form his predgidice against the Jews
- 1926 writes Mine Kemp "My Plan"
- Part of his plan was the annihilation of all the Jews
- When Hitler came to power in the 40s he put to death 6 million Jews / 1/3 of the Jewish population
5. Today the entire Muslim world would rejoice if Israel ceased to exist.- Just as much of the Muslim world rejoiced when the towers were struck on 9-11
Iran:
We know that Iran as ancient Persia is one of the countries prophesied to come against Israel in the last days Ezek 38:1-12
- President of Iran has repeated said that Israel is a stinking corpse and should be wiped off the face of the map.
- Iran finances much of the terrorism that happens against the Jews.
- Iran is developing nuclear weapons and is making the world very nervous.
- Israel is ready to strike at them to stop them
WHY DOES THE MUSLIM WORLD HATE ISRAEL?
II. It Is An Ancient Hatred
A. Both Jew and Arab claim Abraham as their father.
B. Many Arabs are descendants of Ishmael
1. Satan inspired a feud between two brothers
- Abraham had a promise - a son. But he was 100
- Wife @90 had an Egyptian maid Hagar
- Abraham;a wife said lets have her bear our child
- Ishmael was born
- Hagar and Sarah had strife
- Abraham wanted to let this child Ishmael be his son of promise.
God's response:
Ge 17:18 And Abraham said to God, "Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!" 19 Then God said: "No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.
- Abraham did finally have another son Isaac
- God made promises towards both boys:
Isaac:
Ge 17:21 "But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year."
Ge 17:1 ¶ When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. 2 "And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly." 3 Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: 4 ¶ "As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. 5 "No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. 6 "I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. 7 ¶ "And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. 8 "Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."
Ishmael:
Ge 17:20 "And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.
Ishmael was promised:
* Blessing ( Oil & paradise)
* Fruitfulness
(What are the chances that most of the world's oil is positioned on the people's land that were promised by God blessing.)
* Great nations (millions of people have been born)
What they didn't get was the land and the Messianic promise.
TODAY THE BIG COMPLAINT IS: LAND!
It shouldn't be Israel's - It should be ours!
So today the descendants of Ishmael are set on getting what they think belongs to them, THE LAND
Satan continues to inspire hatred by this lie
All Arabs are not descendants of Ishmael - but most Arabs are Muslim
Mohamed is a decedent of Ishmael - his satan inspired anger is evident in the Koran & Hadiths
- Satan has repeatedly re-ignited this hatred over land all through the years
III. The Purpose of Islam is to Resist Jews and Christians
- It is demonically inspired to hold back God judgment of Satan
- The Koran is filled with hateful statements concerning Jews, Christians, and women.
A. Christian conversion is of the heart by choice in response to God's drawing.
B. Islam conversion is by choice or by force
C. They do not hope the world sees the truth of Islam - they are bound to force Islam on the world.
D. Their purpose is to conquer
IV. Radical views of Iranian Muslims
Over 1 billion muslims in the world
3 million in US
150,000 in Houston
A. Islam is divided into to sects Shiite & Sunni
1. Terrorist are usually Shiite
- believe in the hadiths - more radical
2. Moderate are usually Sunni
- Even though not as likely to bel involved with terrorism the majority support the fight against Israel and the west.
Iran is a Shiite Muslim nations
Since they are on their way to a nuclear weapon it is important to know that they also believe in the last days.
Shiite/Iran last days teaching:
1. There is a coming leader - Messiah
2. He will emerge in the midst of chaos
3. He is alive today and the Iranian leader strongly
believes in him
4.Some believe that Iran WANTS chaos to force the appearance of the 12 Imam.
5. This new Islamic leader is to have hybrid Islam - Is it possible that this will be the antichrist?

Abraham Lincoln called for a day of repentance and humiliation
In 1863 the United States was embroiled in a great civil war. On March 30, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln issued an historic Proclamation Appointing a National Day of Prayer & Fasting.
"Whereas, the Senate of the United States, devoutly recognizing the supreme authority and just government of the Almighty God in all the affairs of men and of nations has by a resolution requested the president to designate and set apart a day for national prayer and humiliation.
And whereas, it is the duty of nations as well as of men to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God: to confess their sins and transgressions in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon: and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord:
And insomuch as we know that by His divine law nations, like individuals, are subjected to punishments and chastisements in this world, may we not justly fear that the awful calamity of civil war which now desolates the land may be but a punishment inflicted upon us for our presumptuous sins, to the needful end of our national reformation as a whole people?
We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown; but we have forgotten God.
